about

Guitarist Thom Harris, bassist Jim Marvin and drummer Paul Standing create a stripped out psychedelic speedball of noise and fury that fuses resolutely raw and dirty grunge with classic blues sounds. Seething like rabid animals, the guitars growl and the drums pound to themes of frustration and rebellion, creating music of uncompromising, visceral power that harks to influences such as Sonic Youth and The Stooges.

Killed By Youth is the début album From Black JuJu, recorded in Norwich’s Old School Studios on one blistering Sunday afternoon. The band had been trying unsuccessfully to capture the raucous energy of their live set over 2013 and had hit a dead end. All attempts in the studio had ended badly with each go leaving them more and more disillusioned with the modern way.

Killed by Youth, as it is now, was done in one take all onto glorious quarter inch tape, with all the juicy bits left in. Rock’n’Roll authentically captured completely live, no overdubs. Real music for the digital age. It was a lot of fun to make. It shows, an unbridled celebration of life looking up from the outside in.

Special mention to Jason Baldock on production and Carl Saff mastering.

They have garnered positive reviews:

The Sound of Confusion -

‘a band to check out...neat guitar that mixes US and UK alt-rock sounds and the kind of drumming which would burn off the calories of a KFC family bucket in the space of a song.’

SubSiren -

‘ a finely-oiled, if not slightly battered, psyche rock Cadillac.’
